What better time than Earth Day to showcase the products grown using a Hydroponic Grow Station! ​High School, Life Skill students have been hard at work growing herbs, lettuce and a few other vegetables. The student’s picked a few items for our Food Service Team, led by Chef Cara, to use as a base in this colorful garden salad. A Hydroponic Grow Station works without soil! Advantages of hydroponics include: plants can be grown anywhere year-round, greater control over growing conditions for increased crop yields and faster growing time, no weeding required, no need for crop rotation, plants can be spaced close together and stacked vertically, materials can be reused, and saves water up to 90 percent!
